giant family pictures

For Christmas we all got together for a Sumsion photo shoot. It was a surprise to my parents, so that was really fun, and rare for us all to be together at the same time. Not to mention dressed, fed, awake, and mostly happy. So 12 adults, 9 1/2 babies… it was quite the task. All images by our wonderful photographer, Katie Luther. (She brought assistants and puppets and seriously you should have seen the madness happening behind the camera. Thank you thank you thank you.) We took them out at this ranch I think? Actually I can’t remember, except that it was windy and freezing and we were on the clock to get them done before kids exploded, in between lunch and naps and dinner and whatever else.

I’m so glad we took the time right after Christmas to do this– it was a little hectic and I’m sorry the timing wasn’t great but I think it was so worth it. Now dad can replace his pink/teal circa 1997 picture down to his office… this was long overdue.

I can’t wait to make this one huge and put it somewhere in my living room. There are so many of us!
