40 weeks 4 days.

Just wanted to update to let you all know we are still here! Surprise!

We had some visitors today which was SO WONDERFUL. JaNae brought Madilyn and Kira down for the day and I thought Isabelle was going to implode when she saw them. She wanted to run so badly but we were in a parking lot and I was holding her hand so she basically tetherballed around me. I’m so bummed I forgot my camera today- they were all so cute together. We had a great morning at Fairytale Town with a picnic where Isabelle was assaulted by a chicken. I kid you not, this giant red rooster BIT HER FINGER. She was holding a dried mango and apparently the chicken wanted it more than she did and snatched it out of her hand. She was thoroughly traumatized and will likely hate birds forever. All day she held up her little finger and said, “That chicken bite me!”

Anyway. We had some play/movie time in the afternoon here at the apartment, then to Arden Fair for a little shopping. Kudos to JaNae for taking all three girls on the carousal at the same time. Also, she brought muddy buddys..high on my list of awesome. It was so nice to spend the day with our family and I think Isabelle really needed a little bit of “normal life” just for awhile.

I’m feeling…close to the end. The baby is still moving a lot- actually he has the hiccups right now. I often wonder if its the last time I will feel them from the inside? Last night I had contractions for hours but they didn’t get more painful or closer together and eventually I fell asleep. This is all very exciting for me because none of this happened when I was pregnant with Isabelle. The fact that I even had to time the contractions last night is huge, it’s part of what I wanted to experience with a trial of labor. I feel very optimistic.

Jazz comes tomorrow, I can’t believe it’s Friday again already. Tomorrow will be our twelfth day in Sacramento. Longer than any vacation I’ve ever taken. I have two pairs of pants that fit me. My bra underwire actually snapped in half the other day just out of the blue while I was sitting still. I ate a whole box of frosted animal cookies in two days. Half of that I consumed in target before we paid for them. None of these are my finest moments.

Love that my ticker says my baby is 4 days old. No he isn’t! Stop lying.

  1. Hey Micci, best of luck to you. I wanted to try for a VBAC with my third but had to switch Dr.s and the new guy wasn't on board. I hope things continue to progress and that he decides to come for you on his own! Best of luck. I am rooting for you!
