Don’t ask me why I am awake so early on Saturday morning. Maybe its because we have all four Jaws movies Tivo’ed and I want to get a head start- I don’t know. I may as well update though!
So after our perfect heavenly wedding, Jazz and I flew to Cancun. We were both super excited to go to Mexico- neither of us had been before. We got up early and had some breakfast with Jazz’s family before Bobbie took us to the airport. After a loong flight, we arrived in Cancun and got to our hotel. We were both totally shocked at how totally awesome our stay was! Everyone was so nice to us- they knew we were honeymooners because of our pink bracelets we had to wear. The resort was so beautiful- it had like five pools, four restaurants, swim up snack bars, air conditioning, and a great little beach. We had so much fun just relaxing poolside and getting some sun. Jazz went through a can and a half of spray on sunscreen. It was awesome.
The last day before we had to leave, we went on this tour to Chichen Itza. That was like the one thing we both wanted to see while we were in Mexico, and it was included in our stay at the resort. Our tour guide was pretty entertaining. By the end of the day I learned that Mayans invented keeping time, all forms of math, road building, the wheel, sports, religion, painting, astronomy, and airplanes. Riiiiiight. It was such a cool heritage site though- way bigger than I had anticipated. Although, I have never ever been that hot in my whole life. It was like a zillion percent humidity, and everyone was just sweating. Grown women just started taking off their shirts to be cooler. We bought some awesome treasures to bring back home as souvenirs. Both Jazz and I were a tiny bit sick at this point- I later found out its pretty much unavoidable when you go to Mexico. As sick as I was, I would totally go back and do it again. We both had so much fun and it was a perfect honeymoon!
After five days of total relaxation, we flew to Redding for our second reception. My fam had transformed the lobby of my dad’s office- they set up tables and chairs and everything. It looked awesome! I really enjoyed this reception because I knew everyone and it was pretty laid back and enjoyable. I wasn’t sure I would be able to zip my dress up because of all the food I chowed down on in Mexico, but with some help I got all dressed up again. It was a little bittersweet at the end of the night- I didn’t want it to be over! I didn’t want to take off my dress because I never get to wear it again.
We stayed in Redding for a couple more days- our niece Madilyn was blessed in church on Sunday and I’m glad we got to attend. She is so dang cute! It was great to spend some time with my family before driving back out to Utah to settle in to married life. This is me and Jazzy right before we drove a giant U-Haul full of crap across Nevada. That was a fun day. Nothing like driving 700 miles at 65 mph!
I want to come see your new place and have been really excited to read about your big events since we couldn’t be there in Cali with you!I’m so glad that you guys are back safely and settling into your new life together. I think it’s awesome that you got to enjoy a three day weekend together AND you get to start your new job this week!Congrats onall of your great news!

I’m glad everything was so perfect! I’m jealous of the swim-up bars and drinks–yum. Driving the U-haul definitely would suck. We couldn’t have fit one more tiny little thing in our car when we made the drive to Seattle. Who knows how everything is going to get back in there in 2 months!
