So I just got back from my big family trip to Europe– it was so fun. We started in London, then Paris and finished up in Rome. We certainly packed it in- we saw basically everything. We love art and history so we hit up major museums, cathedrals, and historical sites. Theres way too much stuff to tell you so I will just tell you my favs from each city.

London: We saw Wicked and Les Miserables. If you know my family, you know we are a fruity bunch of people. We love the stage and to see shows and these were awesome. The best part of London was picking up my sister Sabrina. She was in London since January stduying abroad at the BYU center, and it was so good to finally see her again!

Paris: Well- I got sick in Paris. I never really get sick that often (except when Jazz gave me tonsilitis and I had to have my tonsils taken out.) so I’m pretty sure it was the 24 hour flu. Anyway, our hotel was right across from the Louvre, literally, and I was barfing in the bathroom. Ick. I had been to Paris before so I didn’t feel that bad missing a few of the activities. We did eat dinner on the Eiffel Tower- and it was so delicious.

Rome: Probably my favorite part of Rome was exploring the little Churches. There are over 800 churches in Rome, so we didn’t get very far, but it was still fun. Tiny little chapels just right in the middle of the city had great works by Raphael, Bernini, and Michaelangelo. Going to Vatican City was also way interesting.

The best part of the whole trip was watching my parents see Europe. My dad has never been to Europe, and the last time my mom went she was 15. It was SO fun to watch my mom come up the tiny stairs at St. Chapelle in Paris and see the massive stained glass Cathedral. My dad loved the Tower of London and paintings like the Mona Lisa and Waterlillies. Most likely we won’t do another big trip like this, so I am so thankful for the opportunity we had to go together.

Btw- I did graduate from BYU, I just skipped the ceremony so I could go on this trip! Jazz and I also got most of our invitations out for the wedding, phew. My dress came in early so Sabs and I went yesterday for a fitting. I forgot how much I love it. I can’t wait for June 14th! Being away from Jazz without being able to communicate was awful- we are definitely not doing that again. I spent a tiny fortune getting internet so I could call Jazz from Sabrina’s laptop using Skype. I was sooooo happy to see him at the airport on Tuesday night, I missed him so much.

  2. Lucky, lucky girl! (not the sick… but the rest!) Looking forward to meeting you on June 14! 🙂
