Blog, Background, and Bread

“Hey Micci, quick question, I like your new blog background and picture, but isn’t that picture like really, really old? “

Why yes, Concerned Reader, actually it is very old. January in fact. But guess what? Using an old picture of normal Micci makes me feel a little bit better about current pregnant Jabba Micci, so deal with it.

Plus tomorrow is my birthday, so I do what I want. Usually, July 1st brings a PROCLAMATION to the WORLD concerning my giant birthday month. It is a 31-day festival of joy, a celebration and tribute to my excellent birth.

I don’t know what happened this time around. This birthday has really snuck up on me- does baby trump birthday? I’m afraid to admit that I think it does. Not to say that this weekend won’t be full of purple helium balloons, a SHARK CAKE, games, movies and food, because it WILL.

Thursday: Work (barfaroni), dinner at my favorite Chinese place, HP 6
Friday: Work (vomitous), Morgan sleepover, shark cake, Catan, and purple balloons of the helium variety
Saturday: Shopping, more catan, eating cake by the fistful, a commemorative birthday nap
Sunday: Church, primary, dinner with Jazz’s family

There was a point to this post, and I believe I intended to blog about something near and dear to my heart: bread. Micci + Bread = True Love. I bought a book called “Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day.” It’s awesome. Basically you mix up a bunch of dough and you can store it in the fridge for up to 14 days without having to add more yeast, water, shake the baggie, whatever. You put it in there and when you feel like a delicious loaf of hot bread, you pop some out and let it rise for thirty minutes. Bam, fresh bread everyday.

Buy it. Read it. Bake it. Eat it.

  3. I am definitely going to look into that book. Thanks for the tip! Also, Happy Birthday! I think that despite the baby you should still be having a grand birthday month, because come on — it is a chance to practice celebrating for the baby's birthday month! by the time she's 3, she'll thank you for all the hard work you put into becoming a perfect celebrator 🙂
